Laser Skin Tightening

Description

Laser skin tightening is a minimally invasive, nonsurgical procedure that brings dramatic results in providing the youthful appearance to the person who has wrinkles, fine lines and loosened skin. This method is utilized when the person appears relatively older due to ridges and creases that occurs on the skin by excessive use of smoking, leading an unhealthy lifestyle and exposure to sunlight. The procedure uses infrared laser beam that is targeted to the wrinkled skin in order to make it tighter by heating the collagen. The treatment shows noticeable results immediately post procedure, making it a highly popular and effective skin tightening method.

The treatment is followed by addition skin tightening treatments over the next few months to completely regain the basic structure of the skin and its elasticity ability. Laser skin tightening also promotes the growth of new collagen in both treated and untreated areas where the person will notice a dramatic change in the appearance, which will improve in further months.

During the procedure

Before the procedure, the doctor will ask you to remove all the oil, makeup, sunscreen or any other substance present on the skin. The practitioner will then apply an anesthetic cream on the area that needs to be tightened. During this, a protective eyewear will placed over your eyes to prevent from harm. Since the procedure is non-invasive, you won’t feel any pain during and after the treatment. Although you may be given some pain medication before the treatment if you feel discomfort. Antibiotics and antifungal medications may also be given to prevent from infection and other viruses.

The procedure will begin when the practitioner applies brief pulses of laser energy to the targeted area, which also burst cool air to make sure the patient feel comfortable during the process. The practitioner then applies the laser on every part of the skin that requires tightening. The whole process lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, based on the amount and location of the area.
